Did you know that thoughts possess energy?
That’s why a positive self-esteem idea may propel a person to tremendous heights of achievement. While remorseful thinking might lead to a miserable existence.
A thought can cause a shock to an individual in the form of panic attacks.
A thought might act as “affection” or “an infection,” depending upon its quality and strength.
“The thought is the catalyst for events and incidents.”
So, our ideas and feelings contribute to our pleasure and misery.
This implies that self-respecting ideas have the unique ability to strengthen us from time to time.
As a result, an attempt must be made for self-strengthening to live happily, peacefully, and meaningfully.
We must “harness the inner power” to live a better life and to perform effectively.
I didn’t say “create the inner power” because we all have it in us.
We just need to identify and channelize them in the right direction because these energies decide our future. (i.e., the law of manifestation)
The below-mentioned strategies have helped me stay put when the thoughts of quitting overpowered my intellect. These techniques have enabled me to look beyond failures and setbacks.
They have empowered me to stay patient and calm in times of turmoil.
I am sure they’ll do the same for you.
I. Know What’s in Your Mind
It is believed that if we understand our minds, we can comprehend our needs. Thoughts, emotions, and feelings are all part of who we are.
We’re souls, little sparks of light appearing in the physical body. The chariot in which we traverse the high road of life is our body.
We are all good-hearted beings who are capable of greatness in our own ways. In the cosmos, we have an eternal existence.
We generate thoughts that result in a wide range of mental, intellectual, and physical actions across the planet. Thoughts are seeds that create the world.
So, the “self,” i.e., soul, possesses mental, intellectual, and resolving powers, in addition to seven heavenly qualities that serve as a foundation for good behavior and enable us to carry out our daily tasks effectively. “I am a spiritual being, a self-luminous, sentient, and immortal being, the soul, the everlasting spark of life.”
By thinking right, we can ensure a desirable reality.
But how can we think right? A big question!
The answer is simple, though.
If you comprehend the implications of your negative thoughts, you have won half the battle.
The second half is easier than the first. You just have to be careful what you think.
Whenever you have a negative thought, remind yourself of the consequences. Making someone/something a villain of your life will help you get rid of it easily.
I learned this technique from the works of Joseph Murphy, who is known as the master of the subconscious mind.
So, as time passes, you’ll easily comprehend who you are, how you react to situations, and what you want.
From time to time, your thoughts, ideas, words, and dealings will teach you new ways of living, which will add to your bank of experiences.
II. Adopt an Assertiveness Approach
Self-confidence is inherent.
Though some may have the confidence to walk only a few blocks away from home compared to some who can live in an entirely different country, there’re no percentages of self-confidence.
It’s how much self-confidence you have harnessed. It depends upon opportunities, location, upbringing, and lifestyle. But more importantly, it depends on choice.
When you have no choice but to step outside of your comfort zone, you’ll be surprised to see the infinite potential you possess within yourself.
So, don’t limit yourself by thinking, “I can’t do this, I can’t live with him, or I am just not ready for this.”
No one’s ever ready for a change.
But only a few try to mold themselves for a possible change. The ones who hide behind the limitations enforced upon them by life are the ones who have the deepest regrets of life.
I have realized that we are more likely to regret the things we did not do than the things we did.
So, try to identify the cause for not reciprocating further in life.
Investigate the hurdles that are limiting you from doing what you want. It can be peer pressure, public opinion, or just the figment of imaginative fears.
Life is a collaborative effort. We can march forward and achieve progress only if we work together with our inhibitions.
This is how we can establish peace, unity, and integrity within ourselves even though external situations seem chaotic.
III. Incentivize Yourself (Not Materially)
Self-motivation emerges when we are able to respect and embrace ourselves.
As self-propelled robots, we can move as far as we want without anyone’s help because we have a lot of energy within.
“Self-motivation is an invisible mechanism that operates independently and has a specific goal and objective in life.”
But, nothing comes easy. Self-motivation is the last thing to happen when life takes unpredictable turns. But there’s one sure thing to remember, “Nothing stays forever.”
If the good days didn’t last, bad wouldn’t stay either. Also, remember that after the day follows the dark night.
A bloomed flower has to wither with time. Change is inevitable.
So, don’t suppress your creative energies by demoralizing yourself. You can change your focus if self-motivation seems impossible. At least you’d not be thinking anything detrimental.
When the traffic of negatives decreases with a temporary distraction, pull out a list of your achievements and appreciate yourself.
This will also help you limit thinking about the probable failure. This is the best way you can incentivize yourself because it’s permanent as compared to materialistic rewards.
IV. Set Rules For Yourself
We have the potential to be excellent performers and contributors. Our efforts, however, will not sustain us unless we have self-discipline — the rules of the game of life.
Starting with our ideas, we need to develop a methodical routine.
Since our lives begin with a thought, we must consider what we wish to think, talk, and do, all of which should be guided by ethics, values, and a code of conduct.
Punctuality, sincerity, honesty, truth, integrity, simplicity, and humility should serve as the foundation for our self-discipline.
No one can teach us these values unless we decide to practice them in our daily lives.
However, there are so many distractions in the forms of unfair short-cuts, deceiving companionship, and false flattery that prevents us from sticking to our rules.
So, we must keep a constant eye on ourselves to ensure that we do not stray from the road of hard effort and self-discipline and fall into the “trap of chasing what others want.”
It is important to retain self-respect and dignity. We must have a list of non-negotiables that guide us towards fulfillment. We must form a set of rules that ease our decision-making process by setting the right priorities.
V. Self-Satisfaction
When we look back, we must assure ourselves that we have done our best. Satisfaction and self-congratulation are the two essential factors that enable us to live without regrets.
We must develop an attitude of “I tried, at least,” instead of “I failed.” This will subtly install a feeling of self-appreciation, helping us succeed in other projects.
I know life is too short of accomplishing what we desire. We can’t achieve everything we desire in one lifetime. It’s impossible. Either our desires start multiplication, or we begin to crush our dreams to match reality.
“Don’t match your thoughts with reality. You’ll only attract pain and failure. Instead, match your thoughts with the future you want to create; you’ll surely see the desired results sooner or later.”
But, staying satisfied can help us focus better. Staying satisfied doesn’t mean settling for what you get.
You must strive for what you deserve but with patience.
It’s a myth and a BS advice to “stay hungry always.” I followed this practice for a long time, and I only found myself agitated and restless (even after achieving what I had planned for myself).
Self-satisfaction is like cake’s frosting. It covers all your pain, struggles, and miseries, leaving a soothing effect on your mind.
Life is full of joy. Life is a constant flow. When life is a reason to rejoice, you don’t need any reasons to rejoice.
The Takeaway
A mind is a tool through which we can attract a reality. It can be a material thing or a feeling.
Knowing what’s in mind can help you understand where the problem lies and how to deal with it.
Success isn’t about achieving what you desire or want.
Likewise, failure isn’t a result not met. It’s the thought that creates all the illusion of reality.
If you know what you think, why you think, and how you think, no external circumstance can be against your wish.
How do you deal with negative thinking?
