I am done losing my attention to public opinion.
The reasons are:
a). They’re not wrong from their perspective.
b). I lose mental energy and peace that can be put to constructive use.
c). Proving myself right doesn’t get me a billion dollars.
d). I lose respect and an opportunity to make beautiful relationships.
e). I can’t give anyone the power to enter into my mind and steal my happiness — I am egoistic.
My journal says these reasons are just the tip of the iceberg.
The more I become older, the more I realize the importance of freeing up some space in my brain by letting go of the things that don’t deserve my attention and hence mental energy.
The debate over pineapple on pizza
A culinary clash as old as time — or at least as old as Hawaiian pizza.
Some argue that pineapple is a refreshing burst of flavor. Others claim it’s a crime against pizza.
It’s a never-ending battle, and you know what? It doesn’t matter. Just eat what you want and let others do the same.
Don’t waste your time debating the merits of fruit on pizza. It’s just food.
Whether a hotdog is a sandwich
This pointless debate has been going on for far too long.
People have strong opinions on whether a hotdog is a sandwich or not. But you know what?
It doesn’t matter.
Just enjoy your hotdog (or sandwich) and let others enjoy theirs.
Stop arguing about this trivial issue and focus on more important matters.
The “realness” of reality TV shows
It’s a guilty pleasure for many, but do we really need to dissect the authenticity of reality TV?
Whether scripted or unscripted, reality TV is entertainment.
For me, it’s a waste of time. I get nothing. I couldn't extract pleasure or relaxation from watching them.
In fact, I often feel drained by the chaos they create on screen.
I mean, they’re not meant to be a documentary or a representation of real life. If you enjoy it, great. If not, don’t watch it.
But don’t waste your energy debating how real it is.
The perfect way to load a dishwasher
There are wars in the world, and then there are dishwasher wars.
Everyone seems to have their own strategy for loading a dishwasher. Some insist on pre-rinsing, others swear by a specific arrangement.
But in the end, the dishes get clean, and that’s all that matters.
Save your debates for more pressing issues and let the dishwasher do its job.
The superiority of cats vs. dogs
The eternal pet rivalry rages on.
Some people are die-hard dog fans, while others firmly stand in the cat camp. But why do we have to pick a side?
Can’t we appreciate the unique qualities of both animals?
Don’t waste your time arguing over which pet is better. Just love the furry friends in your life and let others do the same.
The accuracy of horoscopes
Astrology can be fun and intriguing, but it shouldn’t dictate your life.
While some people swear by their horoscopes, others dismiss them as pure fiction. My question is, does it really matter?
It’s okay to enjoy astrology as a form of entertainment, but don’t get caught up in heated debates about its legitimacy.
Instead, focus on your own growth and self-improvement, regardless of what the stars say.
Mine is bigger, better, and powerful than yours
Ah, the age-old battle between Apple and Android users.
Each camp is passionate about their choice, and it often leads to heated debates about which is superior.
My point is both brands have their strengths and weaknesses.
People have different preferences and needs.
It’s all about what works best for you. Instead of wasting your time defending your favorite brand, appreciate the fact that we have choices and that technology has come a long way.
Enjoy your device and let others enjoy theirs.
The toilet paper orientation debate
Over or under?
The way you hang your toilet paper has been a topic of discussion for decades. Some people are fiercely loyal to one method or the other, but in the grand scheme of things, does it really matter?
As long as the toilet paper is there when you need it, who cares which way it hangs?
Focus on the more significant issues in your life and let this one go.
The pronunciation of “GIF”
Here’s a debate that has caused more rifts than one could imagine: is it pronounced with a hard “G” or a soft “G”?
The creator of the format, Steve Wilhite, said it’s pronounced with a soft “G,” like “jif.”
But many people still use the hard “G” pronunciation.
Guess what? It doesn’t matter.
Communicate and move on. There are more important things in life than how you pronounce a three-letter file format.

Great advice. Life got a lot calmer for me as I let go of the emotion driven need to be right no matter what. It took life giving me a few really hard slaps to the ego before I started to get the message that everything doesn't have the same importance. Then I got older and had less time and energy to spend on petty nothings. You really nailed it today. Well done.
