Success isn't just about what you do—it's about what you stop doing that holds you back.
The hard truth is most people are destined to remain stuck in mediocrity forever.
- Average lives,
- Average finances,
- Existing but never truly living their dreams.
Want to know why?
Because being successful requires putting in the hard yards 99% of people aren't willing to do.
It means fixing fundamental flaws ingrained in you from decades of bad habits and toxic programming.
Brutal, I know.
But living in denial won't change reality.
Only by first admitting where you're going wrong can you start taking the necessary steps to turn it all around.
After years of battling through the quagmire of self-sabotage, I've identified the five critical blockers that keep most people from reaching their potential.
If you're ready to step up, here are the five hurdles you need to clear:
1. Your Excuses Are Suffocating You
Everybody has a story they tell themselves about why they can't succeed, don't they?
Maybe it's blaming lack of money or formal education. Crappy circumstances you were born into. That con artist who scammed you for your life savings five years back. Health issues beyond your control.
Want to know the cold hard truth?
None of it matters.
Those excuses, whether semi-legit or fiction, are hurting you way more than whatever external events they're based on. Making excuses is a self-defeating habit that keeps you stuck in a cycle of mediocrity.
The first thing extraordinarily successful people master is taking radical responsibility for their circumstances and possibilities. They ditch the victim mentality and ask themselves "What's one thing I can do RIGHT NOW to make progress?"
Think Oprah was handed opportunities thanks to a privileged upbringing? She was povertized from childhood and repeatedly molested by family members. Rather than play the victim, she decided to boss her life up.
The excuses have to go if you want to blow up big time. Period.
2. You're Deathly Allergic to Hard Work
Harsh reality? Most people hate hard work and hustle like vampires fear sunlight.
We've become a species obsessed with shortcuts,杭啦路 and lifehacks to get faster results with minimal effort.
This one weird trick nonsense has gone viral because human nature is fundamentally lazy.
News flash: there are no worthwhile shortcuts to success. Never have been, never will be. Every big winner goes through the trenches and puts in the hard miles while others seek workarounds.
Building a billion dollar business like Steve Jobs? Decades in the trenches making sacrifice after sacrifice.
Becoming a highly respected author like Stephen King? Countless nights burning the 3am oil putting word after word on the page.
What you call your "job" isn't hard work.
It's trading time for money like the 95% of humans trapped in mediocrity.
Real hard work is choosing the path of constant struggle. Endless grinding towards defying odds.
That's the type of extreme obsessive work ethic all successful people operate from.
If you want to remain stuck being basic, keep being basic with your efforts.
3. You're Surrounded by Dream-Killers
This one hurts, but you need to face facts:
The people closest to you in life right now? They do NOT want you to be successful.
From jealous loved ones waiting to sabotage you, to crabs in a bucket trying to keep you mediocre like them — you're surrounded on all sides by dream-killers.
Whether it's the constant belittling jokes poking at your ambitions, or loved ones convincing you to settle for less because "it's not worth the struggle"...every person in your circle is carrying limitations for you based on their small-minded fears and doubts.
Extremely successful winners go to war against these toxic voices, even when they're coming from loved ones with good intentions. They respectfully distance themselves from folks poisoning their dreams with doubt. Society is structured to keep you mediocre. Those closest to you are brainwashed by this system.
4. You're Lying to Yourself
So many people claim they want success in their lives, yet they're living in a fantasyland of delusion and lies.
What do I mean?
Simply put - you're not putting in the daily efforts and habits of success. Instead you're kidding yourself with the whole "I'll start tomorrow" mentality and self-sabotaging at every single turn.
Building real success in your life requires making hard choices and sacrifices the majority isn't willing to embrace. Long nights of obsessive hustle when friends are out partying. Strict daily routines of personal mastery installed like clockwork. Saying "no" to countless temptations.
Only after you begin acting on a daily basis like the successful person you crave to become will you start inching towards that reality.
Wake up and look in that mirror, because the only one lying to you is...YOU.
5. You Have No Concept of Obsession
What separates the wildly successful champions of the world from everybody else? They aren't delusional enough to expect "balance" in their lives.
Becoming exceptional requires obsession. An unquenchable thirst for leveling up daily and ruthlessly prioritizing your biggest goals over all else.
Whenever someone asks me their big dreams and goals, I always ask:
"So what are you currently obsessed with and disproportionately committed to making progress on daily?"
If they can't rattle off that one big goal getting inhumane amounts of focused energy...they're getting in their own way yet again.
Somebody reading this right now scoffed at the word obsession. They're picturing depraved junkies hitting rock bottom rather than channeled focus into productive pursuits.
Championship winners like Kobe Bryant or Serena Williams don't hit their insane heights without an obsessive edge driving them. Business moguls build empires through decades of single minded obsession.
So spare me the cliched "balance" advice constantly preached yet never achieved. You want huge success in your life? Find an obsession worth routing everything else around and watch as your dreams manifest.
Those are the 5 harsh truths nobody is willing to hold up a mirror and make you confront. But if you can wage war against them rather than staying blind to your faults, magic happens.
I guarantee if you overcome those 5 toxic traits, and pursue the opposite qualities through daily habit...everything you ever craved for your life suddenly enters the realm of possibility.
So what are you waiting for? Let's get to work ousting your inner mediocrity demon.
You're only one epiphany away from exploding into your final form of success.

All of the numbers are true. One can spend years having these sentences in his/her head. The trick is, and I am long from getting it, to turne it all around.
