I grew up in an era when women were not treated equally to men. My father was a misogynistic pilot and he wanted my older brother to be a pilot, but he wanted me to be a flight attendant. They made fun of me when I tried to keep up with him. It was demoralizing, but I managed to make it to college and grad school with my mother's help. That changed my life.
